HOW-TO GUIDES

HOW TO IRON A SHIRT

Nothing can break an outfit quite like a creased shirt, so it's important to know how to iron yours perfectly.
Get flawless results every time with our four simple steps, or watch our video to see how it's done.

STEP 1 - THE PREPARATION

Switch your iron to the ‘Cotton’ setting. Shirts will always iron best when they're slightly damp,
but a little spray of water of a steam from the iron will suffice.

STEP 2 - COLLAR AND CUFFS

First, iron the collar and cuffs of your shirt. To avoid the shirt curling at the edges, start from the edge and work in.

STEP 3 - THE YOKE

Next, place the Yoke of the shirt (the part which covers the back of the shoulders) over the end of the
ironing board and work outwards in. Use lots of steam to remove creases from the back of the shirt.

STEP 4 - BUTTONS AND SLEEVES

Turn your shirt over and move your iron across the Placket (the strip which contains the buttons and buttonholes).
Press the tip of the iron in the gaps between each button. To finish, iron the sleeves using fluid movements to remove any creases.
